About Me

I am Shamsad Rahman, a [Silk Painting/Mixed Media] artist based in Orangeburg, South Carolina. I am writing to propose "Harmonies in Silk," an exhibition of my recent work.This series merges traditional silk painting with contemporary digital techniques, using photography, digital manipulation, and hand-painted layers to create a visual dialogue between nature, abstraction, and harmony.My work balances the fluidity of silk with structured digital elements, inspired by my background in design, digital art, and extensive travels.A copy with my artist statement, images, and CV is attached. I believe "Harmonies in Silk" would be a compelling addition to Mary Martin Art gallery’s programs.
